Crocodile Diplocynodon

This fossil comes from the Miocene sediments of Gracanica in Bosnia. This is the skull and many postcranial 
bones of the crocodile Diplocynodon, which lived about 20 million years ago.

Elaborate preparation: The bones were completely freed from the rock using modern sandblasting technology, 
they are now exposed in three dimensions and can be viewed from all sides.

In addition to the skull with the great teeth, you can see the armor made up of numerous armor plates, 
the spine with ribs and a complete leg with foot and claws.

Diplocynodon is also known from the famous Messel pit.

This is an original fossil!
