Dinosaur bone Atlasaurus polished slab

This bone of  the sauropod Atlasaurus comes from the Middle Jurassic (Tiougguit formation) of the Tadla Azilal region in Morocco.

Here is a piece of a humerus of this giant dinosaur which was polished on both sides to get a view to the inside. Is fascinating to see the bone structure of this extinct animal.

The stone is unbroken, it measures about 11 x 7 x 2 cm.

The Atlasaurus is a new discovered dinosaur species. Only in 1999 some remains of this giant were discovered for the first time. This Dinosaur could grow up to 15 meters in length. The animal was named after the location which is in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
