Frog, skin preservation

Here we offer a small (unidentified) frog from the plio/pleistocene sediments of Rio Sisimico, El Salvador.

The animal still is in the transition stage between tadpole and frog. It is perfectly preserved. In addition to the skeletonbones the complete skin is still there and one can even recognize the eyes as dark shades.

The frog measures about 13 mm. The unbroken originalmatrix measures around 6 x 4,5 cm. The stone is very light (?Diatomit).

All is original, nothing was glued, painted or reconstructed!
