The tooth is well preserved, even with its root intact, and measures about 33 mm. The unbroken original matrix
measures approximately 6 x 5 cm and contains other small fossils.
Tanystropheus had an extremely elongated neck. It lived primarily on land, which is why remains of this dinosaur
are very rarely found.
