This fossil fish, Nothogoneus longiceps, dates back to the Oligocene period and is approximately 30
million years old.
The location is extremely unusual. The specimen was recovered during the construction of the "Palmengarten"
subway station in the heart of Frankfurt am Main – not far from the Senckenberg Museum - in Germany.
It is an old find – the subway was built in the late 1960s, and no further finds have been possible since
then. The fossil comes from the 43-meter-deep level of the so-called "yellow layer."
The fish is completely preserved, measuring approximately 17 cm in length. The slab is unbroken,
measuring about 20 x 9 x 0.7 cm. It is a 100% authentic specimen without any manipulations!
The animal was painstakingly prepared using the plastic transfer method to ensure its long-term preservation.
It's very detailedn just look at the amazing scales!
We only have this one specimen, and since the site has been irretrievably extinct for over 50 years, it's
impossible for fossils from there to come onto the market again.
A unique opportunity for an advanced collector - don't miss it!
