Psilophyton - earliest land plant

This rock contains interesting fossils of the earliest known land plants, Psilophyton.

The fossil comes from the Lower Devonian layers of Waxweiler in Germany. 
It is approximately 400 million years old.

The piece is unbroken and measures approximately 25 x 14 x 2 cm.

This is a rare chance find – it is the first time we have been able to offer such a fossil 
from this locality.
