Products description

This slab was found in the middle triassic (upper Muschelkalk) layers of Bindlach near Bayreuth. It contains one near complete Seastar "Trichasteropsis weismanni" and several fragments of a second individual.

These animals are amongst the rarest triassic fossils, such an item is a highlight in every Muschelkalk-collection.

The complete seastar is quite big, it measures about 6 cm, it is still embedded in its original sediment. The arms have been bend over, the fossil would even be bigger if the arms were streched out.

All is unprepped, one could remove more...

No manipulations at all !
