Products description

Skull cap of Homo Neanderthalensis Vestina Pecina Croatia

This skull cap belongs to a lesser known specimen of the croatian Neanderthal line. It consists of the Os frontalis and most parts of the right Os parietalis.

It was found in a neighbour cave of the world famous Krapina cave in Croatia. It is approximately 130.000 years old and belongs to a Neanderthal population that had relatively wide, and lightly constructed skulls. In Croatia were found relatively big populations of about 100 individuals, that all were heavily crushed into pieces. This is supposed to be a sign of canibalism.

This cast is handcoloured and made of Epoxi. The colours may be a little differend than shown on the pictures. Because of the handcraft every cast is unique.
