Products description

Cast of the facial bones from Homo Heidelbergensis, found in the cave of Arago, near Tautavel in the french Pyrenaes. Found 1971 by Henry de Lumley and published in the same year as Arago XXI, also known as Tautavel man. H. Heidelbergensis, the european Version of H.erectus, lived around 400 000 years ago, they developed later to the Neanderthals. On this very detailed skull cast the nasial cavities and the brain cavity are perfectly to see. The approximated brain volume is 1166 Cubic cm and beyond the known size for H.erectus.

This cast is handcoloured and made of Epoxi. The colours might be a little differend than shown on the pictures. Because of the handcraft every cast is unique.
