This is a seed fern, Dicksonites pluckenetii. It comes from the Permian sediments (Rotliegendes) of Lauterecken in Germany. This fossil is interesting for several reasons: - Complete fern fronds of this species are hard to come by; collections usually only contain fragments. - The site is no longer accessible and protected. - It is an authentic specimen, it does not have any manipulazions. The stone was glued once, it measures approximately 32 x 28 x 2.5 cm. The area where it was found is now under strict protection, and no new finds from there are coming onto the market. The piece offered here comes from an old collection.
