Brachipod with inner structure

This excellently preserved brachiopod Spiriferina pinguii was prepared in a way that the outstandingly delicate inner structure has become visible. The fossil dates from the Middle Jurassic (Bathonian) of Chateauroux, Indre department of France.

This type of brachiopods is now extinct. The piece was produced using complex and time-consuming acid prepping to make an attractive highlight of any Brachiopod collection.

Rarely offered fossil in museum quality without any manipulations.

The collection box is included, it measures about 6,5 x 6,5 x 6,5 cm.
