Coccosteus - Devonian Placoderm

Here we offer a great quality Coccosteus spec. was found in the middle devonian layers (Orkney Islands) of Scottland.
Coccosteus was a Placoderm fish that has extinct millions of years ago. The age of this fossil is about 380 million years.

Take a look ath the pictures and see the great details. The fish is complete and undamaged.
The prepping was done with modern tools, it took a long time but the result is just amazing. Even the tiny tail bones are there.

The fossil measures about 23 cm from the snout to the tip of the tail. It is well centered in the unbroken original stone
which measures about 27,5 x 19,5 x 1,5 cm.

Honest piece - no manipulations at all!
