This predatory fish of the genus Prionolepis egerton comes from the Upper Cretaceous sediments
and is around 100 million years old.
The fossil was found in Hgula-Byblos in Lebanon.
Prionolepis swallowed their prey fish completely head first. And as a special feature
the last meal is preserved at this fossil. You can clearly see a small eaten fish in the stomach.
The large fish measures approximately 21 cm. The small prey fish measures about 4 cm.
The stone is unbroken and measures approximately 19 x 18 x 1.5 cm.
Unusual exhibit for the advanced collector.
