This is an interesting slab with a sea scorpion - Eurypterid spec. and a variety of early plants
Taeniocrada longisporangiata.
The stone comes from the deposits of the Lower Devonian (so called Klerfer Schichten) of the
Olkenbacher Mulde/Eifel in Germany.
Sea scorpions are rare finds and mostly only fragmentary. Such a great articulated animal in
the middle of the unbroken stone is super rare.
Please also note the backside full of early plant fossils.
The eurypterid measures about 6 cm. The slab is unbroken, it measures about 28 x 19 cm.
Visually attractive and scientifically interesting exhibit without any manipulation!
Museum piece!
