These fossil fishes Dapalis macrurus are from the Lower Oligocene (Stampian) of Cereste in France.
The age of these fossils is estimated at about 34 million years.
There are two complete specimen nicely centered on the stone.
Each fish is about 5 - 6 cm in length. The matrix is original and unbroken, it measures
approximately 21 x 18 x 1 cm.
Old find from the famous historical site. Nowadays it is strictly forbidden to dig there,
no new finds reach the market.
Very detailed condition - just as found - no manipulations at all!
