This is Calamophyton (formerly Duisbergia), these are the oldest tree-like plants in
the history of the earth.
The stone shows remnants of the tip from which some branches emerge.
The fossil comes from the middle Devonian of the Bergisches Land in Germany
The stone is unbroken, it measures about 23 x 18 x 4 cm.
There are also some crinoid stalk segments present, suggesting deposition in brackish
water where freshwater and saltwater fossils are found.
No manipulations!
Interesting and rare!
