Hyena skull fragment with tooth

This hyena skull fragment is a gravel pit find from the Pleistocene deposits of Bensheim in Germany.

IThe bone still contains a tooth. Interesting here is the strong wear and tear of the tooth enamel, it must have been a very old individual.

The fossil is unbroken and without any manipulations.

Hyena fossils are very rare and quite sought after by collectors.
