This Pachycormus fish fossil comes from the Posidonienschofer (Lias epsilon) of Holzmaden. These bony fish are now extinct.
The fish is completely preserved, it measures about 42 cm (streched a bit longer). The fossil was reburied in an original matrix and it is ideal as a wall decoration. The plate is unbroken, it measures about 49 x 40 cm and weighs approximately 8,5 kilograms.
The animal is wonderfully preserved and perfectly prepped. A great set of teeth and the preserved stomach contents make this exhibit even more interesting.
Fish fossils from this classic locality are top highlights and are rarely offered for sale. Complete and aesthetic exhibit - truely worth shown in any museum.
At this location there are hardly any possibilities for finding, new discoveries are nearly impossible.
Rare opportunity to acquire such a great museum exhibit.
