Palaeoniscum - permian fish

This fish Palaeoniscum freislebeni comes from the permian layers (Zechstein) of Bad Sachsa in Germany. The site has not been accessible for decades, it was only available for about three months in the 1980ÂŽs during a road construction.

The fish measures about 13 cm. The stone was broken once, it measures about 17 x 11 cm.
