This slab is full of fossils of the rare Placoderm fish Rhinopteraspis dunensis.
The fossil comes from the lower Devonian (Upper Siegenium/Pragium) of Odenspiel in Germany.
The age of this piece is about 410 million years.
The stone measures about 38 x 15 cm. It contains many fossils such as head shields, nasals, spines and so on.
The typical surface structures of the fossils are interesting.
Remains of these rare fishes are among the top rarities and are highly sought after by collectors and museums,
unfortunately the site is no longer accessible to collectors.
