This plate with two reptile vertebrae comes from the middle triassic (lower Muschelkalk
from Gogolin in Poland.
The piece was given to the paleontologist Dr. Rupert Wild for identificaton. He suspects
that the vertebrae are those of Placodus and Thecodontier. Placodus fossils are rare, those
of Thecodontians are extremely rare.
The vertebrae measure about 1.5 cm each. The plate is unbroken, it measures approximately
13 x 8 x 2.5 cm.
