Products description

This rare armored Placoderm Microbrachius dicki comes from the middle Devon of the Orkney Islands of Scotland. The age of this fossil is around 400 million years.

The fish (female individual) is completely preserved, it measures about 3 cm. It is NOT a split fossil, it has been elaborately prepped professionally.

The matrix was broken and have been glued, it measures about 7,5 x 7 cm.

Only glued, no further manipulations, everything original!

Interesting: At
this species it was possible for the first time in evolution history to prove a propagation by copulation. The male individuals even had two copulation organs - one on each side of the body. The piece offered here is a female individual.
