Messel bat with perfect skull and ear

This fossil bat  comes from the Eocene of Messel in Germany. The piece was - as usual - prepared with the plastic transfer method.

The skull is perfectly preserved with many teeth, and even the soft tissues like an ear are visible.

The site is no longer accessible for decades and no new discoveries from there will reach the open market This piece comes from an old collection.
