This tooth of Placodus was found in the lower triassic layers (Muschelkalk) of Apolda, Thüringen in Germany.
It was part of an old collection and comes with a historical label.
The tooth measures about 22 x 16 mm, it is nicely located in the middle of unbroken original sediment.
Fossils of this rare reptile are highly soght after because they are extremely rare finds.
Nice piece without any manipulations!
