This shark spine Egertonodus basanus (Egerton 1845) was found in the cretaceous layers (Wealdon, Wessex Formation) of Yaverland, Sandown, Isle of Wight.
The fossil measures about 6 cm in length. The stone is original and unbroken, it measures about 9 x 7 cm.
No manipulations at all!
