Products description

These sabercat vertebae of Smilodon fatalis were found in the pleistocene layers of the famous Rancho La Brea tar pits in Los Angeles, USA. These fossils are about 40.000 years old.

The reference is very special, it is surrounded by the US metropolitan Los Angeles and delivers outstanding discoveries from around 300 mostly extinct species. The most famous (and the most sought after) fossils of this location is the saber cat Smilodon fatalis.

The excavation site is under protection for many years - nowadays it is strictly forbidden to dig and look for fossils - today there is a museum. Fossils from Rancho La Brea are highly sought after by collectors - not least because they are rarely offered for sale. This is only the case when old collections were resolved. The fossils offerd here come from an old collection.

These are two articulatetd cervical vertebrae... the second (Axis) and the third one from one individual.

The vetrebrae were broken and have been glued, no further manipulations

This one is rarely offerd and highly sought after.
