This fossil shark skull of Hybodus basanus was found in the Wealden layers (jurassic-cretaceous border, Hasting Beds) of East Sussex, England. The age of this fossil is about 135 mio. years.
The skull is unprepped and is still embedded in its original matrix.
One can clearly recognize the shark typical structures and even some teeth-parts are visible. In addition, on the backside of the stone there is a partial fin of Lepidotus preserved.
The stone is unbroken, it measures about 22 x 15 x 6 cm.
Extremely rare item! No manipulations at all!
