Products description

Here we offer a big fish (Pachycormus) from the lower jurassic (Lias epsilon) of the classic location Holzmaden/Germany.

Unfortunately the fish is a littte disarticulated. It measures about 70 cm. The slate is original (the fossils were not put into this slab), it measures around 97 x 53 x 3 cm. The Ammonite (with Aptychus) measures about 24 cm. The bigger teeth of the fish are about 1 cm long.

This fossil shows very nice jaws with many teeth. More than 50 teeth are preserved. The fish could be prepped further. Some bones are still covered with slate.

The slab was broken and have been repaired professionally. The fish was finished with a thin layer of varnish (could be removed with Aceton easily). No paint was used. To stabilze the slab on its backside, it was covered with a thin layer of Epoxi.
