Holocene crab

Offered is a very attractive and near complete Shore Crab, Liocarcinus exculptus, from Holocene deposits in northern Italy (Rovigo). Because these crabs buried themselves into the nearshore seabed sediments, they are ideal candidates for fossilization. Surely attraktive piece on matrix with some shells. This animal is not recent, it is some thousand years old. Allthough is not very old, it is at the beginning of the fossilisation. The piece is an original, no fake, not manmade!  The unbroken matrix measures about 13 x 10 cm. The crab measures about 11 x 4 cm.
