MUSEAL UNIQUE PIECE: Furcaster palaeozoicus & Taeniaster beneckei - Original Hunsrueckschiefer Bundenbach
For sale is a rarity and an optical masterpiece of paleontology: A flawless, unbroken original slate plate from the world-famous Lower Devonian of Bundenbach, populated with two different fossil brittle stars.
This stone shows an attractive association of Furcaster palaeozoicus and the rare Taeniaster beneckei.
Note on the locality and the market situation:
Bundenbach in Germany is a world-famous fossil lagerstaette (classic locality) known for its unique pyrite preservation of deep-sea organisms. The locality has been extinct nowadays. No more slate is commercially mined for the fossil market in the Hunsrueck. Specimens of this size, quality, and pristine originality originate exclusively from old historical collections. They can hardly be found on the open market anymore and represent a crisis-proof investment.
