Taeniaster. This piece originates from the world-famous Hunsrueck Slate (Hunsrueckschiefer) in Bundenbach, Germany, and dates back to the Lower Devonian period (approx. 400 million years old).
Since the mines in Bundenbach were permanently closed in 1999, this is a genuine rarity from an old private collection!
