Products description
This rare Rugoconites fossil originates from the Precambrian-Ediacaran period and was found in Jin Jia Dong, Xu Pu County,
Hunan Province, China. It is over 570 million years old.
The fossil measures approximately 4 cm in diameter, is preserved in three dimensions, and exhibits a distinct bulge in the
rock. The stone is unbroken and measures approximately 9.5 x 5.5 cm.
Fossils of the Ediacaran biota are extremely rare and seldom offered for sale.
An authentic specimen – no manipulation whatsoever – entirely in its original, unaltered condition.
Note: These fossils were recently reclassified; previously, they were attributed to early jellyfish.
This specimen comes from a decades-old collection; such specimens are no longer available today, especially since the site
is now strictly protected.
