This tooth from the shell cracker dinosaur Placodus gigas comes from the Middle Triassic (Muschelkalk limestone) of Bindlach near Bayreuth in Germany
This fossil is approximately 240 million years old.
The tooth measures about 1.3 cm. The stone is unbroken and measures approximately 7 x 6 x 3 cm.
Fossils of this interesting reptile are rare extremely finds. They are highly sought after by collectors and museums. The specimen offered here comes from an old collection and still bears the original old lrare triasabel on the back.
