Products description

This fish, Dapedium sp. (Leach 1822), comes from the Lower Jurassic (Toarcian, Lias epsilon) of Holzmaden in Germany.

This fossil is approximately 182 million years old.

The fish is completely preserved. Thanks to the excellent preservation of the fossil and the masterful preparation
with modern tools, wonderful details such as the fish's dentition are clearly visible.

The fossil measures approximately 19 cm and is embedded in its original sediment (it has not been replaced).

The stone was broken and professionally glued; it measures approximately 40 x 33 x 2.5 cm.

Fish fossils are quite rare in Holzmaden. Due in no small part to the dwindling number of quarries at this classic
site, finds like this are seldom offered for sale.

We only have this one specimen – don't miss out!
