Here we are offering you another rarity for sale. This is a stone with fossilized shark eggs, Palaeoxyris muensteri. It was found in the Lower Jurassic (Lias) layers near Bayreuth in Germany. The piece contains a complete egg and part of another egg. As an interesting addition, there is a superbly preserved Thinnfeldia fern on the back side of the stone. The complete egg measures approximately 12 cm. A small corner of the matrix was broken off and have been professionally glued. The stone measures approximately 16 x 13.5 x 1 cm. Such finds are very rare and highly sought after, not only by the many shark tooth collectors. The site no longer exists; it has been filled in and renaturalized.
