This magnificent slab contains a variety of beautifully preserved crinoids (Glyptocrinus dyeri).
The stone comes from the Upper Ordovician (Corryville Formation) layers of Florence, Kentucky, USA.
These fossils are approximately 488 million years old.
Unusual: The exhibit contains more than fifteen detailed crowns!
Fossils from this locality are rarely offered for sale, and when they do, they usually consist
of only small fragments.
Interesting: The exhibit for sale here comes from the collection of Karl Albert Frickhinger,
a well-known deceased collector and author of various fossil books.
The stone meaures about 17 x 12 x 2,5 cm.
The backside has been stabilized with synthetic resin – no other manipulation whatsoever!
