These fossil sea scorpions (Eurypterus remipes) come from the Upper Silurian (Fiddler Green Formation).
They are approximately 420 million years old.
The find location is "Lang Quarry," Middleville, New York, USA.
Interesting: There are two complete specimens on the stone; usually only fragments are found.
As a small bonus, another individual is preserved as a negative at the edge of the slab.
The larger animal measures about 7 cm, the other about 4.5 cm.
The stone is original and unbroken, measuring approximately 16.5 x 15 x 4 cm.
