This fish fossil, Palaeoatherinidae (Atherinida, Atherinavardinis SAUVAGE), comes from the sediments of the Upper
Miocene of France. 
The site was discovered on a construction site in the 1970s between Vézénobres and Alès.

The area is now protected, and the fossil offered here comes from the estate of a collector.

The fish measures approximately 15 cm. The stone is original and unbroken, measuring 
approximately 22 x 19.5 x 1.7 cm.

A rare and authentic specimen without any manipulations.
