These two fossilized fishes Dapalis macrurus come from the Oligocene sediments of Cereste in France. The animals measure 8.5 and 7 cm. The stone is unbroken and measures approximately 27 x 18.5 x 0.5 cm. The preservation of the fossils is excellent; it is rare to find two such exceptionally well-preserved fishes so close together. The site is strictly protected, and collecting is no longer permitted there. No tampering!
