Products description

This fossil swimming crab, Antrimpos undenarius (SCHWEIGERT 2001).
It comes from the Upper Jurassic (Upper Kimmeridgian, Nusplingen-Formation) of Nusplingen/Baden-Württemberg in Germany.
This exhibit is approximately 152 million years old.

The crab measures an impressive 20 cm. The slab was broken and professionally glued. It measures approximately
33 x 21 x 2 cm.

The preservation of this specimen is remarkable and was expertly prepared.
Interesting: Even soft tissue (the eyes) is preserved as fossils.

A genuine specimen – there is only a small addition to the upper head area –
otherwise, no manipulation at all!

The site is strictly protected. Although the site is far from Eichstaett, the deposits are approximately the
same age as the Solnhofen limestones. The geology and fossil content of the two sites are also very similar.

The fossil comes from a scientific excavation. Fossil hunting is strictly prohibited in Nusplingen. The specimen
offered here was officially acquired thanks to our good relationships.

A rarely offered, high-quality fossil for an advanced collection.
