Products description

This is a flying fish, Exocoetoides minor. The fossil comes from the Upper Cretaceous of Haqil in Lebanon.

This exhibit is approximately 100 million years old.

Interesting: Both sides of the fossil are present, so you receive two stones. The fish is beautifully preserved in great detail and is
attractively located in the center of the stones.

The animal measures approximately 5.3 cm. Both stones are unbroken and measure approximately 12.5 x 8 x 1 cm. There are
some more fossils on these stones as well.

Exocoetoides minor is the only known flying fish from Lebanon. With the help of its extremely enlarged fins, it could glide above the
water's surface. The genus has long been extinct and bears little relation to modern-day flying fish.

An honest specimen without any manipulations!
