This is a fossil shark egg Paleoxyris spec. The specimen dates back to the Upper Carboniferous – more precisely, the Pennsylvanian – of Grundy County, Illinois, USA. It is approximately 320 million years old. The egg shown nice details, it measures approximately 5 cm. The stone is original and unbroken, measuring approximately 9 x 5 x 2 cm. There are also parts remains on the stone. Sharks have "glued" their eggs to plants. Interesting and rare! No tampering whatsoever!
