This fossil fish Aeduella comes from the Permian deposits (Schwarzpelit Bank / Rotliegendes) of Niederkirchen in Germany. The animal measures approximately 11 cm. The slab was broken once and measures about 20 x 13 x 2 cm. The animal is complete preserved and shows an attractive contrast between the white fossil substance and the greenish-brown sediment. Such white fossils formed in localized areas when the fossil-bearing layers were heated by scorching lava from volcanic eruptions. These are called "fried" fossils. The location has been under strict protection since 1986, and no new finds from there reach the market. The piece offered here comes from an old collection. Rare offered fossil fish without any manipulations! SOLD
