This pterosaur bone comes from the Upper Jurassic deposits—more specifically, the Moernsheim Layers (Tithonian - Malm zeta 3) of Muehlheim in Germany. These sediments overlie the famous Solnhofen limestones. The fossil is approximately 150 million years old. The bone is completely preserved, measuring approximately 17.5 cm in length. The stone was broken once and have been professionally glued. It measures approximately 22 x 21 x 3 cm.
Reptile fossils - especially those of pterosaurs - are extremely rare in the Mörnsheim layers. Rarity without any manipulations!
