Prionolepis with Gaudryella in stomach

This Prionolepis fish comes from the Upper Cretaceous, Sannine Formation of Hjoula, 
Byblos, Lebanon.

A special feature is the last meal of this predatory fish. A smaller Gaudryella fish is clearly 
visible in its belly.

The predator measures 16 cm, its prey is about 5.5 cm in length.

The stone was broken once and measures approximately 21.5 x 7.5 x 1.5 cm.

A rare museum piece!
