This fish Paramblypterus comes from the lower Permian layers (Rotliegenes, Schwarzpelit Bank) of
Jeckenbach near Bad Kreuznach in Germany.
The age of this fossil is around 280 million years.
The animal is completely preserved and was exposed with great effort using needle dissection.
The result is really impressive, the fish now rises three-dimensionally from the rock!
The Paramblypterus measures about 17 cm, the plate is unbroken (!) and measures about 23 x 15 x 2 cm.
First-class museum exhibit without any manipulation!
