This little fishfossil comes from the Upper Triassic (Noricum, around 220 million years old) from Wiestal near Hallein, Salzburg area in Austria. Finds of fossil fish from the Triassic are extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors and museums. The fossil measures about 5.8 cm, the stone is unbroken and measures about 12 x 4 x 2,5 cm. The white line is natural calcite. This fossil was legally collected on private land in 1994. The search was only possible for a few weeks, the site is extinct now. SOLD
