This stone contains a very early plant Duisbergia mirabilis. The fossil comes from the middle Devonian
of the Bergisches Land in Germany.
Such fossils are rare and usually only fragments are found, which makes this find all the more unusual.
It shows a complete stem (over half a meter long) and even the tip of this lycopod plant is beautifully
preserved.
The slab is unbroken and measures an impressive 53 x 16 x 5 cm.
No manipulations whatsoever!
Museum piece!
