Perch Dapalis macrurus

This fossil perch Dapalis macrurus is from the Lower Oligocene (Stampian) layers of 
Cereste in France. The age of this fossil is estimated at about 34 million years.

The fish measures about 8 cm long. The matrix is ??original and unbroken, its size is 
about 15 x 10 x 1 cm.

Old find from the famous historical site. Today there is a ban on excavations and 
no new pieces can be found.
