Big devonian age Stromatholithe slab

These fossil stromatolites come from the middle Devonian (Givetian) and are about 385 
million years old.

The fossil was found on the Orkney Islands of Scotland - Yasnaby Sandstone Group.

The stone is unbroken, compact and stable. It measures approximately 28 x 14 x 4.5 cm. 
One side has been cut and polished to reveal the interior of the stromatolites. 
The back is cut, the stone and the fossils are naturally preserved on the sides.

this piece.
